The WOCMM pilot, which was established in 2007, was developed to address the special needs of women offenders. The program provides a holistic approach to traditional case management practices for probationers by observing the precipitating issues that can contribute to the client’s ability to succeed while under supervision. The WOCMM team is comprised of two Probation Officers and a Gender-Responsive Case Manager housed at the AIC. The unit provides gender responsive treatment to female offenders while collaborating with community agencies in order to address these special needs which include, but are not limited to: Child care, Employment, Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Educational/Vocations, Parenting, and Housing.
